Perceptual attitudes towards safety climate among employees of a manufacturing firm: A qualitative approach

Safety climate can be regarded as a summary of moral perceptions that employees share about their work environments. This study explores the attitude (working on production sites) towards safety manufacturing firm producing medical equipment located in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The data were collected through an open-ended questionnaire from 30 working section Setia Tek Limited. All responses questionnaires analyzed descriptively and interpretively simultaneously using thematic content analysis method. findings indicate overall perception majority (67%) is positive. research further reveal common understanding significance managerial strategies business operations. With regard to contribution dimensions shaping perceptions, reveals all nine (safety concept, risks associated with daily work, cause accidents, policies, regulations, procedures, balance productivity goals goals, commitment upper management, immediate supervisor/ manager, employees, adequate training competency, disciplinary actions for violations, accident investigations) positively contribute employees’ perceptions.
